Eloize Mellet has been in private practice for the past 20 years. Completing her B.Sc Physiotherapy at the UOFS in 2000 and working in a team environment at Sklaar,Laider & partners in the outpatient sports and ICU environment. In 2003 Eloize completed the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy qualification whereafter, she was the afforded the opportunity to work with Alberton Rugby Club where she was the team physiotherapist until 2009.

Eloize completed her Master’s degree (M.Sc Physiotherapy (WITS) in 2009 with a special interest in sports specifically ankle injuries in rugby players. During this time her interest in sports concussion was triggered reviewing the balance and proprioceptive deficits players suffered despite no specific lower limb injuries but potentially related to previous concussions. During this period Eloize was invited to assist the All Blacks on a South-African tour with recovery sessions and similar service was provided for the touring Highlanders.

Eloize has attended courses focussed on sports concussion and sport rehabilitation as well as currently completing modules of the chronic pain management qualification.

Eloize has lectured on the pre- and post-graduate programme for WITS and has been a clinical examiner and supervisor for the WITS orthopaedic programme for in both the B.Sc and masters programme as well as being a clinical supervisor and examiner for OMT( NMSP).

Eloize has been privileged to work in the Gauteng Lions club scene with Roodepoort (touring to Sun City for the National Club tournament) , Raiders RFC and for the past 10 years at Pirates Rugby Club as the official team physiotherapist where she was part of the team who played in the inaugural Gold Cup. During this period Eloize was chosen as team physiotherapist for the Lions Sub-Union and Amateur teams as well and has extensively dealt with players suffering rugby injuries and often managing concussed players.

Eloize has been fortunate to be able to work as Physiotherapist at ESKOM at the Wellness centre focussing on employee wellness and collaborating with the onsite biokineticist to ensure clients were able to have the best ergonomic and wellness care.

Eloize is currently running a private practice with 2 branches, one in Sunninghill at the Core Centre where the practice works with the team at Dreambody Fitness and in Waterfall Sports and orthopaedic surgery where she works alongside Prof J Patricios and Dr J Van Zuydam, treating patients with both sports injuries and post-operative orthopaedic cases.
