Digby Ormond-Brown
Digby is registered with the HPCSA as both a neuropsychologist and a clinical psychologist. He has worked for many years in neurological rehabilitation, with particular experience in the assessment and management of sports-related concussion. His clinical work also spans a wide range of brain-related conditions, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, neurodegenerative disease, and brain tumours.
His training was shaped by senior figures in South African neuropsychology, neuroanatomy, and neuroscience, alongside early exposure to evolutionary and systems-level approaches to brain function. His academic and clinical work is grounded in a strong neuroscientific framework, with particular attention to brain–behaviour relationships and psychophysiology.
Digby’s work focuses on the careful diagnosis of brain dysfunction following concussion and other neurological conditions, providing fine-grained information about which aspects of brain function have been affected. This diagnostic clarity informs targeted, evidence-based rehabilitation strategies aimed at restoring healthy brain regulation.
He developed Neuroharmonics as an integrative neurological rehabilitation and brain health framework grounded in contemporary neuroscience. This approach emphasises regulation of neural systems through attention to sleep, autonomic function, gut–brain interactions, mood, physical activity, and cognitively meaningful stimulation. In selected cases, non-invasive vagal nerve stimulation may be used as an adjunct to promote neuroplasticity, reduce neuroinflammation, and support autonomic regulation.
