Dr Elené Lourens

Dr Elené Lourens graduated with an MBChB degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2014. After completion of her internship and community service, she worked for 4 years as a medical officer at a district hospital in the Eastern Cape as the head of the out-patients department.

She started her postgraduate studies in Sport and Exercise Medicine through the University of Pretoria in 2020.

Her interest in sport started at a very young age. She competed as a middle- and long-distance runner at provincial and national level. She actively competed in CrossFit until 2020. She obtained her CrossFit Level 1 coaching qualification and her ASA Level 1 athletic coaching qualification in 2018. Exercise and healthy living still form an integral part of her lifestyle.

She recently relocated to Gauteng and is currently practicing at Waterfall Sport and Orthopaedic Surgery in Midrand, and at Swift Care Clinic in Rosebank.
