Dear Gail,
As per our telephone conversation this afternoon, I would like to confirm that the Pharos Schools Concussion Programme wish to offer a donation of US$ 1 per CogSport test performed in South Africa. Dr Jon Patricous, a sports physician in Johannesburg and previously the Cats team doctor for 10 years and I have run the Pharos Schools Concussion Programme for the last 3 years and have aimed to improve and individualise the return to play programme for a concussed athlete or rugby player.
We would like to make a contribution to other community based programmes and due to the close association between head and neck injuries and often the co-existence of neck and head syndromes, we thought that your fund would be so appropriate.
We would welcome any association that you could offer between your fund and the Pharos Schools Concussion Programme as I believe that we have a huge amount to offer school boys playing rugby. Our aim is primarily the safety of school boys returning to rugby after a concussive head injury. We would also welcome any exposure on your website.
I have attached an information brochure about the Pharos Schools Concussion Programme. After your meeting tomorrow we would welcome any feedback and would certainly like to set up the logistical means in order to make this donation.
